Resoldo is a bit of a departure from the average blog sitiation. It's an experiment, of sorts, with the central idea being that musicians and composers might like a more controlled online enviromnment where they can exchange ideas without being bothered by common riff-raff wandering through and mucking up other-wise cool conversations.
The idea might work. It might not. It's obviously just getting started, so time will tell. There's a possibility that it's a really lousy concept. We'll see.
The technology to support Resoldo was developed over time by Robert Zimmerman and Josh Carpenter at Bug Logic. We thought, why not use this stuff for something unique?
Since the site is operated by two curious web dorks , we have the flexibility to develop stuff quickly and if it doesn't fly, we can just shrug our shoulders and try the next idea we think is clever.
If you're interested in advertising on the web with big splashy flash banners and really obnoxious pop-ups then look elsewhere. We've got this really single-minded notion that if a website can't support itself without junky ads, then it probably isn't all that good in the first place.
